Patch till Uru
Det har släppts en patch för att fixa till stabilitet och lite andra problem med Uru. Patchen som ligger på otroliga 19,3 MB kan laddas hem här. Om du vill veta exakt vilka problem patche löser så kan du se hela listan här.

Förhandstitt på Larry
Adventure Gamers har tittat lite närmare på den kommande installationen i serien om Larry Laffer. Denna gång återfinns Larry i 3D och heter Larry Loveage, brorson till den legendariske Casanovan. Se förhandstitten här.

The Inventory #10
Ett nytt nummer av The Inventory är ute. Detta nummer frontas av en intervju med Jane Jensen. Andra intressanta saker är bl.a. en intervju med DTP, en av de största distributörerna för äventyrsspel i Europa, recensioner av URU, Tony Tough och In Memoriam, förhandstittar på The Moment of Silence och Cypher

Cypher (Traitor's Gate 2)
Cypher har råkat på några riktiga sågningar i de första recensionerna av spelet. Bl.a. skrev Game Spot så här:

"Traitors Gate 2 is a mess of a game that feels more like punishment than fun."

...och Adventure Gamers som försökt hitta något positivt med spelet skrev följande:

"But enough about what’s wrong with TG2, let’s look at the positive aspects. It is mercifully short, with most of the game time spent either retracing your steps because of game bugs or beating your head against the wall over some of the puzzles and action sequences. There is no story to distract your attention from your surroundings. It is varied enough to appeal to a variety of masochists, regardless of their gaming preferences. The uniform drabness of the scenery can be very soothing. The awkward controls allow you to exercise the fingers of both hands. And it gives those folks who didn’t like the first Traitor’s Gate the opportunity to feel smug. All for a mere $20."

Midnight Nowhere
Gamers Hell har intervjuat Dmitry Lobov från Saturn+ som har utvecklat det kommande skräckäventyret Midnight Nowhere. Läs intervjun här.

Buka Entertainment har äntligen hittat en engelsk distributör för Midnight Nowhere. Spelet släpps i UK under första kvartalet 2004 av Oxygen och i USA under fjärde kvartalet 2003 (vilket torde vara nu!) av Tri-Synergy.

Recension av Broken Sword 3

UbiSoft har släppt en demo till Uru. De första intrycken tycks överlag vara positiva. Vi tänker inte säga vart du kan hitta den... är du dedikerad till ett Mystlikt, sökande förhållningssätt så hittar du den utan länk : )

2003 BAFTA Games Awards
Nomineringarna till 2003 BAFTA Games Awards är nu klara. Två intressanta titlar finns med bland de nominerade. URU: Ages Beyond Myst som av någon underlig anledning nomineras som bästa spel i kategorin strategi (!?) och i kategorin äventyrsspel återfinns Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon. BS3 är också nominerat i kategorin Design och som bästa PC-spel. Här är en länk till BAFTA.

Broken Sword igen...
Det närmar sig releasedags för BS3 och hypen ökar mer och mer.
TeamXbox.com har intervjuat Charles Cecil. Här är ett citat:

"this game has all the strengths of a classical adventure - interesting puzzles, strong narrative and characterization but the move to 3D has allowed us to create a game that delivers a much richer gameplay experience."

Journey to the Center of the Earth
Det är nu bestämt att Frogwares spel Journey to the Center of the Earth kommer att pubiceras i Skandinavien av GMX Media. Det är ännu oklart vilket releasedatum som spelet kommer att ha. Vi återkommer om det.

Intervju om Larry
GameSpot har intervjuat männen bakom den kommande uppföljaren i Leisure Suit Larry serien; Magna Cum Laude. Här är ett citat från intervjun:

"you'll play as Laffer's young nephew, Larry Lovage. It will also be a fully 3D game; and surprisingly, the game is currently being developed without the involvement of Al Lowe"
"At the core of the game, you can wander around the world--exploring the environments, interacting with all sorts of different characters, and getting Larry into trouble. We've created many of the locations you might expect to find on a college campus or in a college town, and each of those locations is full of funny stuff to check out.
Once you find a girl, a whole new set of gameplay is found. Rather than follow traditional adventure-game tactics of making the player search for a specific item and bring it to a specific character in order to advance, we've developed lots of action-oriented minigames that you need to win in order to get better acquainted"

Scratches
Scratches är ett nytt mysterieäventyr från det argentinska bolaget Nucleosys. Så här står det i pressmeddelandet:

"Scratches is a gripping first-person mystery adventure game that will keep the players glued to their monitors, with its story full of breathtaking twists and surprises, until the final shocking revelation. Its combination of inventory based and deductive style puzzles carefully integrated with the storyline, along with the possibility to freely roam the house, will immerse the players in the haunting atmosphere."

BS3 på G
Många stora äventyrssiter har nu fått sin kopia av Broken Sword 3. Här är Adventuregamers.com:s artikel om de första intrycken.
Sammanfattningen lyder:

"I'm quite a bit into this game, and still haven't gotten any more action then dodging a pair of socks my wife just threw at me. At this point, it would just take sheer, willful, brutal ignorance to not recognize that Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon is a pure adventure game. And an absolutely brilliant one at that. My full review will have to be reserved for late November, but I think it's safe to say this game will come highly recommended. Don't hesitate to reserve your copy—just try not to hurt any public servants doing so."

GamersHell har lagt ut två nya trailers.Den ena är på Broken Sword 3 som förresten har "gone gold" nu. Den hittar du här.

Uppdatering: Såpan Larry
Det har surrats mycket om ett nytt Leisure Suit Larry spel den senaste tiden. Här är en sammanfattning av nyheterna:
Det började med att decembernumret av den amerikanska tidningen Computer Games skulle fronta med en förhandstitt på det kommande Larry-spelet. Det kom ut information om att spelet heter Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. Framsidan lades ut på tidningens hemsida men drogs kvickt in igen efter den enorma uppmärksamheten.
På en av Larrys otaliga hyllningssidor, LarryLives.com, gjorde då PR managern på Sierra följande uttalande:

"Hey guys - I don't want to confirm or deny anything, but I can only ask this: keep an open mind. I've said it before and I was serious: those expecting us to go back to the way gaming was in the mid-90s are going to be disappointed. We're not interested in making adventure games anymore. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing really depends on who you are.
So again, all I can ask is that you keep an open mind. Your curiosity and patience will be rewarded soon.

Al Lowe, skaparen av Larryserien och numer icke-anställd hos Sierra kommenterade allt på detta sätt.
All denna uppståndelse ledde till att Sierra (förmodligen tidigare än planerat) släppte ett pressmeddelande och en trailer av det nya spelet.

Al Lowe säger nu såhär på sin egen websida:

"For the thousands of you who have written and expressed support of me becoming involved with the new game, I have news: your efforts are being heard. I have been in contact with Sierra many times over the past week and, while nothing is finalized yet, today Sierra's legal department said I could release the following (grammatically challenged) message:
'Currently, I am in the process of negotiations with Vivendi Universal Games and my involvement with the next installment of the Leisure Suit Larry. Once we have reached an agreement I will be able to comment more on my involvement.'
I'll leave it to the message boards to discuss the full meaning and ramifications of this.
