ScummVM 0.7.0
På självaste julafton släpptes den nya versionen av ScummVM som har nummer 0.7.0. Här är den korta varianten av uppdateringar:

Added preliminary support for 26 Humongous Entertainment titles
Added support for FLAC (lossless) encoded audio files
Added native support for Macintosh versions of some SCUMM games -- this means the 'rescumm' tool is now mostly obsolete, and you can now play those games directly from the original CD
Added smooth horizontal scrolling for The Dig, Full Throttle and COMI (matching the original engine)
Added support for compressed speech and music in Broken Sword 1 and 2
And as usual, we fixed lots and lots of bugs

Sherlock Holmes - återkomsten

Still Life intervju
Adventure gamers har intervjuat Mathieu Larivière, som är "Lead Game Designer" för spelet Still Life. Här är ett litet klipp:

The trailers make it evident that Still Life will be a very intense game, and likely the sort of free-spirited tourism roaming of Syberia would detract from that. How do you implement intensity within the confines of a traditional adventure game? Will there be any action or timed sequences?
There are no action or timed sequences in the in-game portions of the game. Pure action will be handled by the cinematic sequences. The intensity relies on Still Life’s story and the general atmosphere of the game. Since the story has two different time periods, it makes it easy for us to add suspense. We hope that our players, when playing in Chicago, will long to play in Prague and vice versa.

Estetiska problem
Marks är inte känd för att ha utseendemässiga hangups men detta säger han i sin senaste recension:

"Lite störande är det också att spelets huvudperson ser ut som en av de ratade karaktärerna från Babylon V. En av dem som alltså inte fick vara med eftersom han såg lite för mysko ut. För Babylon V. Sen Geder bär en pastellblå rymddräkt med en liten lila mössa med något slags blått löshår på. Han är inte snygg."

Also, you can let the faithful know that I'm back in the game design business...officially. I can't yet reveal who I'm working for or what I'm working on, but I've taken a position as a "producer" on a project and am in charge of all the story, art, dialogue, etc. It's not the type of game we'd all prefer, but it's a step in the right direction. And, most importantly for Tex fans, the rights to Tex came over to this new company with me! Whether or not anything comes of it remains to be seen, but the odds are significantly better now than they were with MS."
